Editorial policy
Modern Regional Review aims to make regional culture clear without flattening its variety. We explain what a piece can establish, distinguish description from interpretation and correct errors openly.
Accuracy and context
We check names, terminology and factual statements against suitable sources before publication. When a subject has competing accounts or varies from place to place, we say so and describe the scope of the piece rather than turning one example into a universal rule.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions remain separate from partnership arrangements. Paid or partner material is clearly labelled as such, and a collaboration does not guarantee favourable coverage or editorial approval.
Corrections
Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review specific, actionable reports and amend published material when needed, with a clear note when the change materially affects the meaning.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Such images are illustrative, not evidence of a real person, place or event, and are identified where appropriate.
A region is made in the details
A shared identity can emerge in words, meals, buildings and customs. We look for the local variation as well as the ties between places.
